Since March 12th, in Columbus Elementary School mask requirements have been lifted and they will be optional to students in school.
Students will be expected to keep a respectful environment by respecting their peers and their decisions to wear a mask or not to wear a mask. They can also support each other by not commenting on people’s choice to wear masks.
The teachers told the students that the state board superintendent lifted the mask mandate in school, that they will be optional and that they should talk about what their choice is going to be with their parents and some students will be wearing a mask and some people wouldn’t be wearing masks.
The decision to wear a mask or not to wear a mask should be talked about with the students’ families.
I have witnessed students so far respecting their peers in class by not commenting on others’ decisions.
Some students wear their masks but not properly in school. This might be because of comfort or students not wanting to show their face as much. Why do you think this happens?
