If you walk in the halls you could see THE CAFETERIA you might think, “This is where kids go to eat and nothing else nothing else happens there besides eating!” And that’s just not true. Here in Columbus, our cafeteria is used for many different events.
You would probably leave before the school bell rings but if you stay a bit longer you would see after school clubs in the cafeteria including: Math group with Mrs. Amsberry, which is a club to learn some more math, Tennis with Ms. Stevens, and Web Writers, our group where we write these articles.
Lastly, another thing that happens in the cafeteria is student of the month. Student of the month is a monthly thing that happens in the cafeteria where the teacher of each class nominates two people for being the most zestiest or whatever the good trait of the month is. If you do get student of the month you get a certificate to grab a free small ice cream with sprinkles at the yogurt shop (which is located by Albertsons.) You can also get tags for being at school every day that there are tags named perfect attendance award. The tags are decorated based on the month and sometimes season.
Some random Fun facts in the cafeteria: only 190 people are allowed to be in the cafeteria at once (seen on one of the pillars). You can also go to the cafeteria and see that the sign says where you grab your lunch “Cougar Cafe”. Another fun fact about the cafeteria is that each month or season the cafeteria is decorated with things based around those months or seasons. There are probably about 10 entrances and exits. Another thing is that the school has removed some snacks over the years. When was the last time you saw a cinnamon cracker goldfish?
Those are some things that you might have not known about the Cafeteria.
