We hope this is the first annual competition and we can start this as a new tradition at Columbus.  It is the wonderful idea of Lynn Hoke, our ELD specialist.  We received an MEF grant for the supplies for the competition, and the Columbus PTA supported with the prizes given to participants.

The kids who participated today were all finalists for their grade level.  We had a preliminary round in the classroom, where teachers did a quick bilingual “quiz” and the top performers were a part of the finals today.
