Introduction
Do you want to know about 3 more things that are in the halls of Columbus Elementary School. We’ve checked the halls K-5 to find some great things different students have done. In each section look below to the photo gallery to see the pictures!
Section One: Anti-Bullying Shirts!
Location: Blue wing, 3rd grade. By all 3rd graders
The Anti-Bullying Shirts are orange T-shirts that have anti-bully messages on them. Miss Yahn told us that the third graders (and other grades) make orange shirts for unity day. They use the color orange because that color stands out and that it means safety and protection. She also told us that she wanted to put them in the halls to show them to other students because she was proud of them.
Section Two: Kindergarten Sharks
Location: Green wing, By Ms. Abeln’s class
The Kindergarten sharks are gray sharks and each student is able to make it their own. They can do this by incorporating some facts about sharks. The sharks also have different amounts of teeth. They did this because every year all of the kindergarten students talk about sea creatures and Ms. Ablen’s class talked about sharks for a week. Ms. Ablen told us she put the sharks up to display how nice they are and how the kinders did so well.
Section Three: Growth Mindset Paintings
Location: Everywhere in the halls, by multiple kids
The growth mindset paintings are a set of paintings in the halls. Kids from different classes have drawn paintings about growth mindset showing what it means to have a growth mindset.
