Zesty Teaching and Learning
These awards are awarded to two students from each classroom who are excited about participating in their learning and are willing to show it in a variety of ways around Columbus.
Here are what some new teachers have said… Mr. McNicholas, 2nd grade teacher, stated that he was looking for students who were willing to actively participate and raise their hands. While, Ms. Yahn, a 3rd grade teacher, let her students vote for their classmate who demonstrated ZEST. Ms. Strebeck, Kinder teacher, discussed ZEST with her students and then chose the students that she thought demonstrated the most ZESTY behaviors! Finally, another new teacher to Columbus, Mr. Elguezabal, 1st grade teacher stated that he looked for students who were positive (showing excitement with their eyes behind their masks), kind, enthusiastic, FEARLESS and willing to make mistakes.
Staff were invited to vote as well for the teacher that demonstrates ZEST. Mr. Rylee Ramos, 2nd grade dual language teacher, was honored with the award this month.
Way to go staff and students! We are proud of you for showing ZEST, actively participating and showing enthusiasm.
